Last night our bible talk had the pleasure of having Kevin Mains as a guest. For me, Kevin answered a lot of questions and gave light to several things that were weighing on my heart. One of those things in specific has helped me to prepare my heart for our BT repentance night coming up. Today's reading in Proverbs was timed perfectly on top of the discussion we just had at BT, and I'm just blown away right now by God's timing... Thank you God for perparing my heart to love and have compassion and grace for my brothers and sisters.

Some convicting scriptures from today's reading.. =)

Proverbs 10:19
When words are many, sin is not absent,
but he who holds his tongue is wise.

Proverbs 13:3
He who guards his mouth and his tongue
keeps himself from calamity.

Proverbs 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Thanks for your thoughts Lisa, I am looking forward to the bt repentance night too. And YES those verses you selected are so convicting! The ones that stood out to me today...

Prov 16:21b
"...pleasant words promote instruction."

Prov 16:24
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

Prov 12:23a
"A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself..."

What's with this 'bible talk repentance' and 'repenting as a church?' it's strange.

Haha ur comment is funny Justin :). Ummm we had a repentance evening for the singles a few weeks ago, and our bt had it tonite. It was a time where we shared with each other where we were at with things; sins, struggles, asking for forgiveness, etc. Disciples typically do it in a private setting (one-on-one usually) but we did it in a group setting (with consideration for those in the room of course). It was wonderful tonite, very healing and bonding :)

Justin, the repentance night at church and tonight as a BT was a great idea actually. It really allowed us to be open with where we are at and be vulnerable with one another as a group. For me, it helped release a lot of junk that I was carrying and it also allowed me to see where other people were at. I felt much closer to everyone just hearing them share. It was great. A very rewarding experience and I'm so glad our BT did it as a family group tonight.

So encouraging to hear that we are striving to be righteous for God and allow God to heal and be glorified in our lives. Love you Lisa and Tera. You gals are awesome.
