The other thing, which I'd love hear what the sisters have to say about this, is I think it feels like Song of Songs was written by a woman. It starts and ends with the Beloved and the Friends are her friends. The Beloved also seems to be talking to her friends, giving advice and talking about her Lover. The Lover isn't there some of the time, but it seems to be about the Beloved's process of falling in love and longing for her Lover. What do you think?
Also one of my favorite parts of Ecclesiastes says this:
God is in heaven and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
As a dream comes when there are many cares,
so the speech of a fool when there are many words.
There is an aspect of prayer that is like you are talking to the king. Imagine if you got to talk to the president. You go in and you have a few minutes of Obama's time. Wouldn't you make sure you said what you needed to say? Get to the point quickly. He's a busy guy and not everyone gets to talk to him. There needs to be that kind of respect when talking to God. The cool thing is God is also our Father and we can talk to him whenever we want.

I havent read all, or most of Song of Songs, but I am familiar with that scripture you posted about "not arousing or awakening love until it so desires." It is actually one of my all time favorite scriptures. I dont know if it was written by a woman, but from what I have read, I feel like it was definitely written specifically for women. I was actually told once that Song of Songs wasn't something brothers usually read until after they got married (something like that), because it could make them struggle. Although don't get me wrong, I'm sure everyone can get something from it. What are some bros thoughts on that?? Maybe someone who is more familiar with Song of Songs can also share their thoughts pertaining to your question..

I like the scripture you pointed out... "Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires." (NIV)
I also like 2 other translations of the same scripture:
1) NLT
"[Do not] awaken love until the time is right."
2) CEV
"[Do not] awaken love before it is ready."
I'm not sure what my opinion is of the author's gender; I think the words of the beloved and lover exhibit equally dizzying besottedness. But if it is a love letter from God to His people (and Jesus to His church), then I would rather believe that it was written by Solomon or someone lead by the Spirit (and of course ALL scriptures were inspired by the Spirit, 2 Pet 1:21)... and I am not convinced that there was a woman during Solomon's time who was lead by the Spirit to write the Songs... but I could be wrong :)
