The Genealogies of Jesus

The Genealogies of Jesus show that Jesus is a desendant of David, whose dad is Jesse, fulfilling Isaiah 9:6-7 (June 29) and Isaiah 11:1-5 (June 30):

Isaiah 9:6-7:

Isa 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, 27 Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

and

Isaiah 11:1-5

Isa 11:1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
Isa 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD—
Isa 11:3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;
Isa 11:4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath
of his lips he will slay the wicked.
Isa 11:5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

It's so faith building to read about the prophecies of Jesus, our Lord and savior! We truly worship a powerful and almighty God! His ways are perfect!
It blows me away how Jesus is linked to the royal line....yet is brought into this world humbly. What an extrordinary love story....and now I get to be apart of it! Yay!!!!

Also, what I thot was super cool was Matt traced Jesus' family line thru Joseph, while Luke traced it thru Mary... and whether we trace His line back from Joseph or Mary, we still go through David, Abraham, and Adam... the prophesies were fulfilled regardless, amazing!

Good stuff Danger! It's encouraging to see prophecies hundreds of years before coming true.
